Sunday School
Children 3 years old and up are invited to participate in Sunday School. Salem shares our vital Sunday School program with Lyndale United Church of Christ and First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), with students and teachers drawn from all three congregations. Sunday School begins at 9:15 am with a large group gathering (singing, introduction, offering) and then time for individual classes. We use a rotation model, focusing on a Bible story for 2 or 3 week blocks, exploring the story from a different vantage each week. We rotate between arts, drama, and activities like science, cooking, or games. We use the SPARK Story Bible for our younger children. During the summer months there is an optional Sunday School program called Arts of the Covenant which meets at 9:15 am.
Middle School Group and Youth
Youth ministry is what happens in and out of the walls of the SpringHouse Ministry Center as 6th-12th grade students attend school, create costumes, make robots, and read books, and wherever Jesus walks with them. So, everywhere!
Youth Group happens in the Youth Room on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:30am during the school year. In this space we all get the chance to remember that we all do ministry wherever we are, we reflect on our weeks, and we have conversations on the our lives and our neighbors to see where God meets us and each other. Outside of Sunday mornings, we gather for community, fun, and service!
